Four San Francisco artists show their paintings, drawings, books and installation at New Image Art Gallery,West Hollywood.
|
Scott Hewicker’s uniquely inventive painting style is reminiscent of traditional Chinese Landscapes on a heavy dab of acid. Hewicker 's original brush style appears inspired by candle drippings, tie dying and 60’s Fillmore West light shows. While holding onto an almost florescent, futuristic lunar landscape’s eclipse,(above lush fauna and flora) animal silhouette move about freely.
Amy Franceshini founder of Future Farmers:Cultivating Your Consciousness,is a renown innovative computer designer.Franceshini participated in the last Whitney Biennial. She will be showing new art and installation.
Shaun O’Dell’s paintings and drawings are a throw back to the colonial era of the United States. His work depicts falcon heads resting on grainy wooden logs as colonial portraits and assorted bird heads align while creating unusually original and almost surrealistic compositions. O’Dell’s drawings were recently shown at the UCLA Hammer ,”International Paper Show”.
Cliff Hengst inspired by Italian Grotesque,a morphing of traditional and human characteristics:Celebrity and Social Pathos. His collage uses language and subject matter (watercolors of street people and prostitutes):collage culled from fashion and gossip mags) and a spiritual transcendence.
