Xylor Jane

Alicia McCarthy is one of the fundamental artists of the newly labeled Mission School of San Francisco. Her whimsical, funky textual and abstract paintings are created on found objects such as discarded pieces of wood and tin cans . Alicia has created numerous murals thru the Mission district and often incorporates collage of her friend’s artwork in her expansive and vibrant installations.
Clare E. Rojas’ folkloric, charming yet dark imagery is reminiscent of Indian Miniature painting. Rojas’ art is currently on view at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and was included in the “Widely Unknown” show at Deitch Gallery, New York.

Xylor Jane’s hard edge geometric paintings are based on mathematics.
Jane’s Installations of her stunningly rigid systematic grids, and eloquently painted shapes are an interesting contrast to the narrative of Rojas and eclectic installations of McCarthy.
